Dear all
It was wonderful to see you all again last night after the summer break! Great to see some returning and new faces too, I hope you enjoyed the session as much as I did, I thought it was a great start, and for me, a very nice way to return to work. My voice is a bit croaky today!
For those not able to come this time, we looked at movements 1, 2, 4 and 5 from Vivaldi's Gloria, and 1 and 2 from Rutter's Requiem. If you would like to hear a recording of the Rutter, there is one here on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9YRn0BVmWM&list=PLXpQCRhZw2lbBEWepbFkuf3hRwdlZz3OZ
This is of course available on other streaming platforms and as a CD. It's Rutter's own performance so we can assume it is authoritative!
Next week, I won't be able to be with you (my daughter is starting as a chorister at Bristol cathedral, we have an induction evening), so Howard has kindly stepped into the breach. I will leave it up to Howard what he rehearses that evening: thereafter I will make a detailed plan of what we will rehearse each week.
With very best wishes
