Musical Director - Ray Willis, ARCM., ARCO.

Ray, Has been with us for many years now and continues to provide a competent and professional rehearsal session. Conducted with emphasis on voice production and projection bringing all his experience to rehearsals from which we are benefiting.
 
He is widely accomplished, having studied piano and organ under the tuition of H. A. Bate and Dr George Thalben-Ball. The theory and composition of music was undertaken under the tuition and guidance of Dr Arthur Pritchard.
 
Ray continued his study of music at London University Opera where he embraced the techniques and skill of conducting with Georg Badacsony at London University Opera and later was appointed repetiteur and assistant Conductor at the University's Collegiate Theatre.
 
Formerly Director of Music at St. Cuthbert's Church, Wells, he continues as Somerset Education Training Officer for the Royal School of Church Music, and has taught at the Wells Cathedral Music School and at Millfield School. He is also an organist at the Bishops Palace Chapel, Wells. Currently he is also Director of Music of Clevedon Choral Society and organist at St. John's Parish Church, Yeovil.
 
Ray has broadcast on both TV and radio and has toured as an accompanist in France and Russia as well as being pianist with the "Nightingale Trio" and one half of the piano duo "Two's Accompany". His interest in electronics has led to many interesting projects with synthesisers and keyboards.
 
He has interesting and challenging ideas for the Weston-super-Mare Choral Society which have come to fruition over the years.
